Mid Back Pain
Middle back pain is an increasingly common ailment, this is not surprising considering the increased amount of time the average person spends sitting, staring down at a computer or smart phone screen. Middle back pain is not as common as lower back pain. Middle back pain can have many causes, such as sports injury, poor posture, arthritis, disease, muscle strain, or trauma suffered in an accident. Most cases of middle back pain though, can be attributed to strained muscles. Luckily, this condition can usually be relieved by doing a few simple things. Usually, rest is the first thing recommended. It is important to avoid activities that could make the condition worse, so it is important to stop lifting and stop exercising. Applying PAINBLITZ Pain Relieving Cream along with ice packs followed by applying heating pads can also help. Sometimes light stretching and exercise can help. A common cause of mild to severe middle back pain is a sudden movement during sports or while working. People who lead a non-physically active lifestyle are at increased risk of suffering a more severe injury. Middle back pain can also be due to more serious conditions, such as fibromyalgia, spondylitis (infection or inflammation of the spinal joints), or a herniated disc. A bulging disc can put pressure on the nerve roots coming out from the spine, resulting in middle back and rib pain.
In addition, a problem in another part of the body, such as the heart or digestive organs, can radiate to the middle back. This is called referred middle back pain.
